MEET DAVID WILKINS.
David is a full time Law Enforcement Officer within the New York metropolitan area with 20+ years of experience.
He became a tactics instructor in 2007 and by 2008 was leading in-service training for his agency in expandable baton, PR-24, and handcuffing skills. His technical expertise has expanded over his career to include handgun and patrol rifle, chemical agents, impact munitions, and OC (pepper) spray.
David is a certified police physical conditioning instructor who actively instructs at a NJ police academy. There he also teaches numerous lecture classes, leads the expandable baton program, and assists with unarmed defense and chemical agents lessons for full time, Class I, Class II, and Corrections Officers. He is an operator on a multi-jurisdictional SWAT team and assists agencies with active-shooter training throughout his county. Dave has been an adjunct-instructor for the Safariland Training Group and Defense Technology Training Academy since 2016 and travels worldwide teaching tactics and use of force skills.
David is at the forefront of the use of force changes taking place in NJ. He is a Gracie Survival Tactics Instructor, and most recently Dave assisted his county with the state-wide de-escalation and tactics program known as I.C.A.T, teaching the program to hundreds of active police officers over the course of 6 months. Dave is also the founder of Dwil Concepts LLC, a product and consulting firm bringing innovative solutions to Law Enforcement services.
Prior to becoming a police officer Dave served active duty in the Marine Corps and received numerous awards and commendations for his actions both home and abroad, in combat operations.
Dave’s initiative and forward thinking mindset was what ultimately led to the development of the SOF x LE program. His input and collaboration has been instrumental in bringing this program to life and in front of our Law Enforcement Officers across the country.
